So it turns out I was completely blind and did not notice the 'SMOKEMASTER' on the side. It's apparently a smokemaster #23.
Briarcraft was the company that made them at the time and this by the looks of it is from the 1940s. Fun fact I discovered is that it has a built in aluminum tube you keep in the stem as well as slots to hold a folded pipe cleaner. It was designed to condense the moisture and a slot in the tube would direct it onto a 'filter pipe cleaner'. Gonna have to see if it will smoke well without that. Very interesting design.

My grandpa’s brother smoked pipe but I was only around him a couple of times as a young child. Too bad I didn’t get those pipes. Everyone else in my family smoked cigarettes or chewed.
