About a year or so ago, I bought this SON pipe from a Serbian seller who listed it as an early creation of Eric Nording before he got his own shop.
It only cost $30, it was brand new, absolutely the most perfectly made and finished pipe in my huge stash, and a nearly flawless straight grain.
I don’t believe this pipe spent 55 years waiting for me to buy it for $30.
Somebody has mastered the perfect machine to fraise pipes. My example is marked 08 and Sailor, so it’s a factory pipe ordered from a catalog and there must be others like mine out there, and a lot of them.
