Unlike wine, or beer, there are no established style standards for pipe tobacco. So a "Balkan" could be just about anything. Same goes for a Virginia, many of which are made using tobacco grown entirely in Africa. Or even worse, VaPers where the Perique isn't from Petique leaf and isn't made in Louisiana and the other leaf is from Africa. Or 1950's movie stars who aren't from the Balkans at all, although they probably went to the Bslkans on summer vacation,

Try Bengal Slices and Smyrna, English/Balkan no matter what type they are. Woods may know the answer!

Haugary isn't even part of the Balkan Penensula. The Gabor Mother and daughters are not from the Balkans.

My favorite Balkan was Dunhill's Early Morning Pipe. Terrific balance, nice Oriental note. Miss that stuff!
