I saw some intriguing Nording pipes on SmokingPipes that are titled "Seagull." But if you ask me, they look more like the scales of a koi fish than the feathers of a bird. But I guess it's not my business to name somebody else's art... what do you think?

Maybe it's called Seagull as in seagull repellent. It looks like a fish but it smells like seamen's rope tobacco, thus repelling seagulls from stealing fish onboard.

Ahhhh warren, thanks for the pre Christmas flashback, love how you can always surprise me on the forum! LMAO, don't forget that wonderful smell! Smells like a black cloud that sticks in the back of your throat. And the one guy who just fricking has to retch....ahhhhhh memories! I thought it sucked just being around it, thank the Gods I never had to fly like you describe.
And know for something completely different..... (Old Monty Python lol)
We bring you back to your regularly scheduled BBC1 discussion on Nording pipes!!

I remember once having to cut my nose hairs out. The oily smell of two crispy critters at a Christmas Eve arson stuck to my overcoat and my nose hairs. I caught whiffs of sweet, greasy, burnt flesh for a few weeks almost every time I inhaled through my nose. The coat went to Good Will after cleaning. Ahhhh . . . the life of a first responder!

Well anyways... No I don't see the 'Seagull' in that pipe, agree that it looks like

scales of a fish.
Though I have to say, I do have a Nording pipe that smokes like a dream.

Flashback, we had a Hot LZ birds comeing in, we were laying down suppressing fire and getting em out, Nam boys threw in a couple crispy critters, I jumped in, about 10 ft up they ignited with the updraft and filled the whole damn bird with thick black smoke, pilot couldn't see, he hovered and I kicked flaming bods out. Didn't think about smell till I got back, had to burn everything , even weapons stunk with liberal amounts of gun oil. Your thread Warren put me way back when.

What the F€#% is That. Somebody said "Hey Man, I smoked a rock and came up with this."
May be a fine piece to somebody out there, but I'll pass.

I spent 2 tours, the last in incountry in the hills in montanyard (sp) area

I know what death smells like!! We came into a a hill tribe village IF you can call it that and the chieftain had been tied to a post and then gutted while alive and the innards were stretched out.

The inhumanity these people showed will be with me forever.

Thank you to the Veterans! I signed up for the draft then they stopped it and I lived thru a relative peacetime era. Never served like they did.
