I recently picked up a lot of 9 pipes from a local antique store. There were some real gems in the lot. There was a Comoy's, Barling, Charatan, a couple Savinelli's, Sasieni Four Dot, and several Ben Wade's. The only downside was their rough condition and my inexperience in restoration. I looked into sending them off but simply could not afford it. And so out of necessity I gave it a shot. Attached are some before and afters of two pipes. The stems were given an oxyclean bath and then a whole bunch of sanding. I used a cordless drill as my buffer. I used white diamond followed by a rouge. I am waiting for some Carnuba to show up in the mail. One thing I did not do was treat all the dings on the rims. The previous owner seemed to knock his pipe against something to empty its contents. I will create a separate post to get guidance on that.
