I have finally decided to toss my hat into the ring. I’ve been sooping around this forum for months now…

I’m an occasional pipe smoker who’s still learning the ropes.

I was attracted to pipe smoking by nostalgia of the good ol days… it’s a kind of return to the times when things weren’t so superficial and ment to impress others…

I enjoy pipe smoking for what it brings to me: a moment of contemplative thought enveloped in a soothing and relaxing feeling.

Welcome aboard from central North Carolina. I went to Montreal to celebrate my sixtieth birthday and loved it. I really appreciated the river piloting of the boat tour on the St. Laurence where there are dramatically visible rocks with water boiling around them, and the boat ride is as smooth as glass. You also have a great art museum. I observed the amenity of greeting people in shops and restaurants with "Bonjour," and they immediately addressed me in English, wanting no more of my poor French. I went in the fall and was impressed with the signs on buildings warning of ice sliding off the roofs.
