Русский текст язык может быть неудобно ориентироваться и на самом деле читать статьи было бы хорошо, но это курение журнал, тем не менее хорошо, и это есть фотографии для ваших глаз, чтобы видеть.

Pretty cool even ifya can't read the articles, they have really well-designed covers too!

Very nice! Do wish I understood Russian. Beautiful photography and layout. P&T magazine should take a look at this and possibly incorporate some of the look of the mag. Not that P&T is bad, but the Russian covers are very creative. Also, the website is engaging and fluid. Pretty cool.

Thank you, friends!
It's not a magazine at all, just online edition. This is not commercial edition -- it's my hobby. I just like pipes, tobaccos and write about it. :) but no ads magazine hardly last for a long time. Original url is pipesmagazine.ru and I hope that I can run the English version of the site where is information about russian pipemakers also will be.
Thanks a lot to Kevin Godbie for help and permissions to translate a some articles from this site.

Beautifully done, torchez. Would love to read some of the stories in English, of course.

Nicely done torchez. All you need now is a section titled: труба женщин Won't need to learn the language to appreciate that!

Yeah, the Russians are really into pipes. They call them Troupka. My wife's family is from Russia, and when I visit the in-laws, clenched pipe in maw, I'm treated like a king. Thimble fulls of straight vodka, the men smoking cigarettes, and me with my pipes. I'm still trying to convert my father in law to pipes. No luck yet. But Russians consider a man smoking a pipe to be a MAN. So I'm in like Flynn whenever I visit. They call me The Keeper of the Flame. And I can drink them under the table too. It's my Irish blood I'm sure. We'll usually do 20 to 30 thimbles before the evening is done - with a toast between each, of course. Although they beat me at chess every time. Never won a game yet against my father in law. LOL.

Kash,
My Russian host father is the one who got me into pipes. The 2nd time I went back there, I made sure I had a pipe with me, so we could smoke together. He sent my dad a beautiful Lorenzetti bent billiard, and 100g of MacBaren silver cube. I think I've convinced my dad to dedicate that pipe to that blend, I just bought him a pound for Father's Day.
It gave us something to bond over. He spoke a little English, my Russian got much better as time went on. He treated me just like a son (he's got 2 daughters). I need to get back there soon. They are some of the best people I have ever met.
How do you say "keeper of the flame" in Russian?
In Russian, pipe is "трубка" or "troobka" B instead of P sound.
Я лублю трубки = Ya looblyu troobki = I love pipes

roth,
homemade vodka is fantastic! I was able to have several different kinds while I was over there. Brought back so many bottles (not homemade) when I came home, had to check a 3rd bag, because it was too heavy!
