I need some help on a Comoy Patent number, please?
2001012
The pipe is also stamped on the shank with a 2 or a weak *2.
I will shoot some images after I finish the laundry.

Squat bulldog shape with a saddle bit stem. Made in England in a circle.
Thank you,

Don

Don, U.S.PAT. 2001612 is the Grand Slam patent. The system was used on other Comoy's pipes, I believe before the Grand Slam line was introduced in 1933. The *2 is the leather washer size for the stinger. I've seen it before on other non-Grand Slam pipes before.

The stinger apparatus is long gone, I thought the shank had more room for "something" going on in there.

Thank you Dave, the stampings are weak in spots.

I’ve read that pre-war Royal Comoy’s were their top brand but this is the first one I have seen that could justify that statement. What a pretty pipe!
