I picked up one of these little beauties to smoke aro's out of, it just arrived today from Smokingpipes. This is my first sandblasted pipe, and I have to say I'm a bit obsessed. This thing is tiny at just 4.37" long, but it feels perfect in hand and the bowl is big enough to park a car inside. Having said that, I was worried that the bowl would look huge in relation to the rest of the pipe, but visually it's well balanced.
I've looked at previous posts on these, and I know some people have a love/hate relationship with them. Me personally, I love the look and feel of the natural horn stem, and the button doesn't bother me one bit. This is a cracking good little pipe. I believe there are still a couple left on SP for only $70 as of 3/11/19.
For those that aren't familiar with them, the stummels were apparently turned by Comoy's in France around the late 60's to early 70's and then sat forgotten on a shelf until Ropp acquired them and fitted a natural horn stem onto the vintage stummels. All in all, for $70 ($80 for the smooth ones, I believe) these are really cool little pipes.
