I went to an all day concert in 1969 that lasted 12 hours. We got to see several top bands and it was a fantastic day for music lovers.

I saw both John Lennon and Jim Morrison that day, for instance.
Perhaps the most memorable performance of the day for me, was Tony Joe White, and Poke Salad Annie.

That song seems to hit a groove that is irresistible.

Polk Salad Annie of course was made Popular by Elvis, and I suppose that song paid Tony Joe White bills for many years. But I still prefer Tony Joe White's version

Loved Tony Joe White. He reminded me of all my friends from Swamplandia, or better known as Louisiana. Great state, great food, great Cajuns. Love 'em to this day.

He put out a new album a few months ago,it's pretty good. One song mentions, "Going down to Covington". That always makes me smile, because my daughter & granddaughter live there. I have a feeling we'll end up living in Louisiana in a few years...
