Vegas Baby!!!
I purchased this pipe knowing it had a stem repair AND air didn’t flow through the pipe. Asking price was right for a little Dr. Frankenpipe work

So it arrived today. I instantly saw the problem. They just glued the stem on with no respect to using the pipe.

I carefully rebroke the stem. Didn’t take much since it really was a cosmetic fix. Then got to work.

I removed the end silver piece and cleaned the old Amber out of the thread side. I enlarged the bore on the Amber stem since it’s shortened about 1-2 mm.

Prepped up the epoxy. To maintain an airway I take a Falcon Pipe Cleaner and coat it with Carmex or Vaseline and apply enough for the repair. I insert the coated pipe cleaner so I can maintain an airway and give stability enough to set the epoxy. The coating on the pipe cleaner allows easy removal.

I then assemble. The epoxy needs about two hours to be hard enough to handle. I’ll wait a week before I smoke it.

I’ll do a little file work, but here it is.

When my skills improve these will come out better, but since I’m smoking them, not conserving them. I’ll take it.

Given your skills those pipes that you can buy probably keeps increasing. Just awesome! And the three patches of silver are just so beautiful. I've seen 2 but this is the first time I've seen 3.
