Does anyone out there know of a good place to buy replacement stems for a couple pipes I am restoring? I bought a couple from PIMCO pipes and they are not finished just really rough molded stems. They were cheap and I got what I paid for. Any suggestions would be great.

I can't say that I could suggest any cheap alternatives to those that you have. Honestly if you drill the airhole a little larger and use some sandpaper they should fit fine as well as look fine. You may have to give them a serious buffing but I know that is what alot of guys do. The only other ones that I would suggest are the forever stems by Walker Briar Works. However, they are made specifically for cobs so I don't know if they would fit the pipes you are thinking of putting them on.

About any stems that you buy will require fitting. The variations are just too great among the millions of pipes out there for manufactures to have them available to exactly fit all makes and models.

I agree with bright and arthur. Even "standard" dimensions like on M-M cobs are variable. I purchased a couple of the Forever stems from Walker Briar Works for my cobs and they didn't fit. I sent them (with the pipes) back to Dave at Walker's who fit them for me, no extra charge. :worship:
