I have two pipes that I want acrylic stems for. Briarworks has bad reviews, Georged and Alden are not taking new jobs, and I don’t trust the local pipe shop.
What’s a fella to do?

Briarworks or Briarville? They are two different things. I don't think works does repairs. I have had a stem made by Brairville a very very very very long time ago. Work was prompt. The stem was OK at best. It wasn't completely even/symmetrical. The button was massive. I have had a replacement stem made by Tim west as well as Mark Tinsky. I would pick one of those two personally over briarville.

Being in Oz, I have little choice.
I’ve had a very good experience with The Danish Pipe Shop
The cost and turnaround time was very reasonable
But you have to factor in the postage and delivery costs

You might try Norwood pipe repair in Clifton Tenn. Very reasonable prices and incredibly fast turn around. Estimate the total cost and send them a check with the pipes to avoid delay.
