40th Anniversary was very good. But my most favorite of all was Aurora. Blissful. If I had known that they would so quickly close shop I would have bought 500 tins! What was your favorite McClelland blend?

5100 Red Cake...that one touched all the bases for me!
Yup. I much enjoyed that one, too. I had read that the growing scarcity of the really good red Virginia leaf they had depended on was one of the main reasons they chose to shutter.
McCranie ‘83 and Redwoods. I’m late to the party so starting from way back and working my way forward. Have many more to try.
My memories of McClelland red Virginias are limited and fading, probably for the best.
I never sampled 5100 but some reviewers compare the tinned Sutliff Crumble Kake Red Virginia to it. The latter is very good imo, however close or not close it may be.
There's probably more McClelland tobacco in cellars than the company made in 5 years. Much of my collection is comprised of their tinned and bulk offerings.
40th AnnIversary was my favorite and fortunately I stocked up. If only one could magically come back it’d be 5100. Great for mixing into so many blends to improve them and nice by itself.
Now, please stop! That isn't fair. It would be OK if you offered to share some of it.
There's blends now that could be gone tomorrow, enjoy what you can while you can. Prior to the loss of McClelland, many ridiculed their blends and those that smoked them for the ketchup/barbecue nature of them. They didn't achieve mythical status until they were gone.
