I know it's been a few months, but I finally got a new stem made for this pipe. Made from one of those cheap vulcanite cast blanks. I have no stem tools, no tenon turning tool, so I can highly recommend that you DON'T try this like I did. Lots of fooling around and general misery, but considering the condition of the original pipe I figured I had nothing to lose. It's certainly not the best looking stem, the fit is iffy, and the bend is a little weak. BUT! The button is much better than the messed up Omega stem that was in the pipe. So even though it smokes better, I'm still on the fence about which looks better.
A few pics to compare the progress of this pipe. I'm done messing with!
