So, I'm a simpleton when it comes to blends, preferring to buy pipes and keep the tobacco the same. Dominican CH or PA mixed with a little 5 Brothers has been my all day smoke for a while now. I've always noticed a bit of a chemical taste especially with CH, but throwing 5 Bros in the mix, toned it down some. I've tried airing out both and it seemed to help, but these last few tubs I have noticed are particularly chemical tasting. I tried other blends I have and didn't taste chemicals, but my allergies have been known to really mess up the taste of smoke. The old pouches of PA were more chemical tasting to me than the new Dominican funnily enough.

I guess I'm at the point where I am really wanting to find a non codger/otc blend that is still in the same ballpark to smoke mindlessly all day. I was thinking of trying Pegasus by C and D as I heard it's a souped up modern codger blend, but I'd love to hear your suggestions. LJ Peretti and Uhle sound right up my alley, they're just a tad pricey to smoke all day. Also a friend recommended me Cowboy Coffee from Country Squire.

Milan Tobacconists sells "their version" of several Middleton classics, including PA and CH. Have heard good things but haven't tried them myself. Worth a try.

I agree with you, the Prince Albert produced in Dominican Republic is less chemical tasting. It's better than the original IMO.

C&D Winchester is a good codger-ish blend. Other C&D blends previously mentioned are good as well.

WCC FUSTG and American Cut Plug also fall in that codger niche. I've just recently tried these two and find myself reaching for one of them when I might otherwise smoke PA. Winchester is a long time favorite at this point.

C&D Pegusus is a great mostly Burley blend.
C&D Yorktown is a great straight Virginia that is also mindlessly great.
And both are cheaper than CH and always available.
I was recently turned on to D&R Ryback which is also very inexpensive and good.

I think you owe it to yourself to try an ounce of Haunted Bookshop again. Also, the recommendations of Pegasus, Brair Fox and Yorktown. C&D blends will always be available, always stay lit easy and are guranteed to go on sale a few times a year 20% off.
C and D is my #1 choice at the moment, I will for sure be trying some of them first.
