Anybody know what’s up with this guy? I placed an order for two briar blocks on May 5. I got an email shortly there after saying that they were shipped. Today is the 17 of May and the post office still shows that they have not received the package. I emailed Rawkrafted and received no response. I have also called many times. No answer and no call back to my voicemails.

That’s pretty odd and not typical for them.
They are great folks and I’m sure they’ll respond as soon as they see the email.

I talked to Premal at length about a week ago. Everything is fine with both him and his business.

Sounds like any "misses" are just something that went sideways, the way they occasionally do in systems that have multiple points of failure. It's why aircraft have built-in redundancies, cars have seatbelts and airbags, and skydivers wear AAD's.

I predict that whatever went sideways with your order and/or contact attempt will be clear in hindsight, you'll get your stuff, tweaks to the system will be made, and pipe smoke will once again fill the air from coast to coast. puffy

I spent several hours in Rawkafted/Smokers Haven’s large, separate display room (near the exit door to the smoking tent) speaking with Premal at the Chicago Pipe Show two weeks ago. He was open longer hours than almost any other exhibitor. I personally watched Premal kindly greet and then patiently answer question after question from many aspiring pipe makers, and recall even commenting that I wish I had as much patience. I bought two beautiful unsmoked pipes from Premal - a Joe Hinkle and a White Spot—at a reasonable price from the hundreds he had displayed.

I suspect that his large and lengthy presence at Chicago may have temporarily slowed down service at the Columbus location, but things will work out. This is a family business that has been in pipes for many, many decades.

I think many of the vendors in the pipe business operate on small margins and with minimal staff. So there may be times when things fall behind.

Back in the day the standard was to allow 4-6 weeks for delivery on mail order. Fast forward 50 years, and mailed deliveries have increased dramatically. There's more infrastructure to support the volume, and the speed of which the deliveries is a lot faster, but the occasional glitch happens.
