I’ve had this pipe (stummel) kicking around for a few a years and finally decided to clean it up and put a stem on it. The pipe was given to me by Rev Rolf at the KC show after Tony Solderman passed away. It could have been Tony’s or it could have Rolf’s he wasn’t sure. According to Who Made That Pipe, Compass was made/sold R Hovenden & Sons. This was confirmed by the the Smokers Directory (year unknown) Does anyone else have a Compass or know anything about them? Was R Hovenden a manufacturer or just a retailer? If they were not a manufacturer, who made their pipes? Maybe @sablebrush52, @georged, or @jguss know something about these.
