Okay-I gotta jump in here.
I got Castello LOVE bad! I REALLY love that red craggy rust!!! WOW!!

Better Half and I got my 1st one around 1980-a LOVELY 33 sea rock rusticated in get this-maroon & black WITH A VIBRANT Diamond PURPLE (yes, really purple!) stem.

Lots of love for the 55 but swapped my last one 'cause I really prefer a 33 (to me, the slightly smaller bowl just smoked better for me--& I'm endlessly surprised by that tidbit!)!

But the Oom Paul's really get me stoked.

Do you like diamond stems (I know--fake diamonds actually--LOL--I thought they were real at first that darn thing cost like $400 bucks back in 1980 for that craggy pot!). Or white bars? Not a deal breaker when I'm getting one BUT I DO love, for me -- the nostalgia of the diamond (I gotta add; however, that my 1948 'stamped' Antiquari small pot has the white bar--ivory back then, and it's a good one!)! ANYONE ELSE PREFER DIAMOND STEMS?

I'm also wondering if you're really an old long haired bearded geezer like me in his 60's and you paid your young neighbor to pose with your pipe? I'm clueless that a young person even KNOWS what a Castello is (apart from that great young pipe purveyor, Luca at Corti Tobacco in Italy!). C'mon, tell the truth!

BTW--I'm still sober, no Paddy's yet!!! LOL
kindly,
mike

Yes this is really me, a lady who really loves smoking pipes eventhough I'm not too old, although my 18 year old daughter says I'm old ? btw I do love diamond stems but I only have one, it's not a Castello it's a Ser Jacopo dalla gemma pipe. I posted it here too back in June.. but I really love Castello pipes a lot, maybe that's why I have 14 of them... ? I will post each one at a time for you to see. This is the third Castello that I'm showing

Yeah Mike, I prefer the older diamond stem Castello, but then again I prefer older pipes from the old traditional pipe makers in general. This is meant in no way to take anything away from Queen's beautiful new briars.

Thanks about the red pipes. When I bought that red Rad Davis it was my first red pipe and for years I wasn't sure how much I really liked it but eventually really liked it. When I bought more, I was totally into the color on pipes. The Bruce Weaver really convinced me I liked the color red on a pipe.

I did find a red one in my collection with a diamond on the stem! The bent stem one has a diamond on the side. I'll do a separate post with better pictures ? IMG_20210804_163638.jpgIMG_20210804_163604.jpg
