Private Messages - House Cleaning

One of the little bugs we have here is that old messages can't be deleted.
I'm considering asking my programmer to go into the database and delete all message that are more than 1-year old.
Is everybody ok with that?

I think old PMs with personal contact info might be the main concern, but if given a hard date that the wipe would happen I think everyone should be able to transpose the needed messages/info to a different location.(if they aren't doing that already)
