I’ve been doing what this guy said in his post for years. All non C&D and Mcclelland type tins get parafilm wrapped as explained below. I don’t do this on opened tins as I transfer anything opened to Mason jars.

I have two dogs guarding my stash 24/7. I don't doubt for a moment any moisture will escape their watchful eyes. And if one of the tin pops, they will bark my ear off to let me know I'll have to apply beeswax around the tin. I'm relatively sure, like West Virginia.
