Ok, that article is just plain silly. Firstly, it's not "US President Donald Trump's Space Force" any more than it's his army or Air Force. I will do my best to refrain from political discussion here, but the military is apolitical and does not belong to the POTUS.

Secondly, it's true that the iconography for the Space Force has been around for quite some time. Like, oh, I don't know, the Space and Missile Operations badge my father wore on his uniform when I was a kid:
