Some like it, some don't. I had better Latakia blends. If you have not had Lat blends before, and $22 might be something you don't want to waste on a tin, try Balkan Supreme. Most places will sell it by ounce and it's a rather mild Lat blend. I don't find PP to be as great as some suggests. Neither does Night Cap floats my boat. Out of often talked about and enjoyed Lat blends, Squadron Leader, Artisan's Blend, and Early Morning are the ones that are the very palatable.

I had a few tins, traded them off for a pipe, kept some Special Reserve that was in a jar, i smoke a bowl once a month or every couple months for something different, the Special Reserve is much better IMO than the regular Plum Pudding.

I mostly only smoke captain black and a couple (of flavors)from my local b&m,went to purchase plum pudding because of the reviews is it worth the $22....btw they were sold out

When I got back to pipes I bought blends that rated highly (4-5 stars) on TobaccoReviews and SmokingPipes
Hated a couple of them and gave them to a mate. Who loved them

Try out the blends to see if they suit your palate
And be thankful that it is $20 and not AUD$125-145 for 2oz. Like it is here in Oz

Just my 2 cents, but if your local B&M has house blends you might consider asking them what blends they really are or who produces them or if made in house. My local place just renames other blends or mixes already blended blends together to make it there own. And I'm sure they can order it for you as well if you get more then 3. If I were you, I'd buy "Mississippi River" but I'm a, The less Latakia the better type of guy.

Unfortunately, you aren’t going to get your answer here. I love it, others hate it, some think it’s okay. I think it’s unique among the sea of English/Balkan blends out there. I’d say give it a try for yourself, only way to really know for yourself.

If you've only had Captain Black you might want to ease into English with something like Nightcap or Early Morning. If you don't like it, try it again later. You might change your mind after you've smoked more Englishes. Latakia is in English, and its extremely smokey like wood burning. Hope that helps.

Mississippi River is a great blend but you need to be able to smoke it slow and enjoy your pipe, don't try to cut wood or anything more strenuous then that because you'll get a nice tingley tongue lol

Received them yesterday, hopefully I can try one out tonight if not Thursday. I will let you what I think on the one I smoke. Any suggestions on what one I should choose first out of Mississippi river, Mississippi river barrel blend ,plum pudding, plum pudding barrel blend.

I would recommend you smoke the regular versions first as a baseline. This will give you some context as to how the special versions have been altered by the barrel aging.
