Have any of you experimented with purposely ghosting your pipe then smoking a different tobacco to enjoy the blended flavor? Last night I tried War Horse Green. This morning I picked up that pipe and realized I may have messed up by smoking it in a particular pipe that I like. This morning I smoked some Bold KY in the same pipe and I was pleasantly surprised at the flavor of the ghost mixing with the Bold KY. Just curious if anyone else has experienced this.

I have stated before that I have no problems with a "friendly" ghost and sometimes do enjoy the lingering flavors left behind from a previous blend. But I'm very careful about what I introduce into my pipes. I once christened a pipe with Strauss Sleepy Hollow and it took many, many bowls of La Volute and Old Joe Krantz to exorcise that demon.

Ghosting was how I pondered, and eventually tried, mixing crazy combos to see how they turned out.
Such as a little Ennerdale with whatever strikes my fancy - or something equally crazy.
Throwing the odd curveball in there seems to help "reset" my palate from time to time, similar to having a bowl of Carter Hall or similar "basic" blend to do the same kind of thing...

I don’t really like aros or even lightly aromatic codger blends, but one of the main reasons I smoke one now in then is to enjoy the ghost afterwards. I prefer coco ghosts to Lakeland ghosts
Same. I have a pipe that was used for Boswell's Piper's Pleasure (chocolate/cocoa). Following that with Latakia blends, and even Semois in the same pipe produced some really delicious results.

One time I saw a comment on a YTPC video from somebody who deliberately ghosted several pipes with Frog Morton blends in order to try and salvage the taste after his stash ran out

Ghosts never bother me in my own pipes. They're either an enhancement or easily smoked out. Getting a nasty estate off ebay is another matter. Some are revolting, and permanently so, it would seem, making one wonder what the hell the previous demented owner was smoking every day.
