Plastic tubs of OTC blends, etc.

How long will they keep tobacco if unopened? I have thought about buying a couple of these for the cellar, but I may not get around to them for awhile. I don't want to have to put the contents in jars right away.

Don't most, if not all, plastics breath in some capacity?

If you can hear the air going out, when you let the lid up air is being sucked back in. Is it not?

Thanks for the tip, Sparks. I've been thinking about H & H Chatham Manor and Angler's Dream. I do believe I'll give them a whirl. I understand these are both Russ O. products that turned out very good.

When I open a tub, I put the contents into pint Mason jars. I do not trust the air/vapor-tightness of the tubs.

I jarred both of the tubs I bought just to be on the safe side. If they're unopened, they'll probably be fine for longer than I think they will, but I wanted to open both and smoke some immediately, so with the original seal broken, jars seemed to be a safer bet.

I smoke out of em for months. Every once in awhile put a drop or few of water on the inside of the lid.
