Birdwatching. By far my favorite pairing activity. The mountains north of Los Angeles are a real hotspot at this time of year, and with my Bushnell binoculars, the last two hours before sunset are a treat. Any others here like me? I've seen @birdnerd75 around from time to time, so I'm willing to bet there are more of the ornithologically inclined.

What's your favorite paired activity while smoking a pipe? Let's of course keep it PG rated (I'm lookin' at you @anotherbob! Okay, I kid...).

p.s. What did I see this evening, you might ask? California towhee, Western Scrub-Jay, Stellar's Jay, Blue Grosbeak, blue-gray gnatcatcher, common raven, house finch, white-crowned sparrow, and some kind of goldfinch whose identity eludes me at the moment.

honestly I like taking walks with my pipe and also enjoy having conversations. Not a fan of reading while smoking but love to write when smoking it seems to loosen up the ole noggin. Most x-rated things are best without a pipe, though a pinch of snuff can be most efficacious (get the reference?)

I spent last evening on the balcony overlooking a luminous Dallas skyline, as heavy storms passed south and north. Nothing substantial hit us, but the constant flashes of lightning and perpetual thunder brought to mind the minuscule nature of my being, and and bowl of Briarworks fit perfectly with the evening (many thanks to the OP for the tobacco).

I like to smoke while I read, but not always. I like music when I smoke, but not always. I guess I’ll settle for a good storm, sunset, sunrise, or panorama with a smoke if I really want to break though levels and truly enjoy something beyond the moment. Lately, I find myself smoking during a commute or during a hurried lunch, without chance to enjoy to process or my surroundings, wondering why I smoke... or have a career.

Birdwatching, fishing, and hiking all appeal to my smoking minder, so’ll be following the thread with interest.

I really don't like to smoke while I'm physically active doing anything...or attempting to have a conversation. I much prefer to smoke a pipe when I can be sitting still and not talking. So most of my smoking time is spent at the computer...either working, or on the forum, or reading something. The other most common time would be watching a movie.

Pipe smoking and _the_other_ _pipe_smoking_.
I do like to read while smoking... Sometimes something engaging, but often I'm smoking while active on this forum or googling random trivia. It's not uncommon for me to smoke while scrolling through TR.com, seeing what others have to say about what I'm smoking, or what they think is similar.
If I'm driving I'm usually smoking. My girlfriend doesn't drive, so I usually get a bowl in while taking her to work and another while waiting to pick her up.
Oh yeah, and I usually smoke while messaging with @BROBS about blends, pipes, the other pipes, vegan recipes, politics, culture, and the wild shit that folks on this forum say?

After a lifetime of stress and multitasks.... Stillness.

I can see fishing, so long as a fish doesn’t disturb my line.

I find alternating puffs and sips of coffee enough of mental challenge. More power to those of you who can walk and enjoy. You’re Rockstars in my book.

My wife and I are also ornithology inclined people. She actual had ornithology in college and loved it. Here in the SE we have a good variety of birds to watch, but have not been pipe smoking and birdwatching at the same time. Have to give that a try!
