I'm kinda with @cshubhra in that the first design appeals to a limited demographic. It's not a bad image, by any means, but I can see it not being some pipers' cup of tea. I think BROBS is trying to appeal to other tastes, hence the second design. Kudos!

Hopefully we'll have different images/designs coming up, there should be something for everybody.
