misterlowercase, what I thought when I saw the antique shop was how different times are. In the picture the expressions are so accurate for that time. The wife horrified and embarrassed, the husband knowing he must now pay for the chair and then the storekeeper's glare making sure the man knows he will pay for the chair. As opposed to now when the wife would go running to care for her husband and the storekeeper becomes very sweet and cooperative so she doesn't get sued for an amount that would bankrupt the store and ,today, the husband would have dollar signs for eyes.
