Because it's his portrait. Honestly too I've heard the theory from people that study such things in a way it's a commentary on his public image versus the reality of who he was. Like not that different but the public didn't really see his weaknesses or his struggles even if more minor compared to some. Seriously that's one way people have looked at that picture. And then that commentary then also applies to his art and how while a realistic style it still shows a pretty accurate image but with a slight bit of the truth smudged out slightly.Wonder why he left his eye glasses out
