I visited and it probably was one of the worst places i have been to. I spoke with a worker explaining I was visiting from PA to check out some local shops. Hovered over me, would not let me look or leave my side. Tried to push everything onto me. They only had two house bulk blends and rest was run of the mill . The guy tried to explain to me how one of the house blends had 1-q in it as it was the best selling tobacco in the country. Shop was dirty, not organized, can no longer walk into the humidor for cigars ( had to look into a separate case to see their selection), pipes scattered everywhere, limited selection of tobacco and the nail in the coffin, one of the bulk blends had the white fuzzies (not crystals) and they did not care. George was unwelcoming. I did make a tiny purchase.

Maybe I am spoiled being near Boswell's, but I would rather deal with the grumpy guy at Boswell's...those who know, know who I mean, than step into PBG again.
So as not to end this thread on your unfortunate experience, that has not been my experience. I hope George is doing well and that others will have a better visit.

I’ll be checking them out again next month.
I was there in Sept ‘23 and it was good. Not a modern pretentious place staffed by hipsters that act like they smoke, so it’s right up my alley.

Like to hear a report on here when you make it. I haven’t been in a year or so.

I can't really disagree with this assessment. It's a funding cigar and pipe tobacco shop but it certainly isn't.Iwan Ries. There used to be a ship in Apex, I think, that was far nicer. Not sure if it is still there or not.

Same great little shop. Tobacco is a little less plentiful, Chris told me that they’re having a helluva time getting any Gawith product.
I did spy a big jar that said “Dark Twist” on it and had a rolled up pound bag from 2017 in it with almost 2oz that I snagged. Dry, but not crunchy dry-perfect!
My dad is an Aries and has always been huge on rams, and they happened to have a Pakoc ram at a fair price.
I was hoping to run into @FurCoat, but we didn’t connect before I got there.

Over a month late, but better than never. Joys of fatherhood. Nice little store. Tin selection wasn't huge, but I was happy to see a B&M offer something beside run of the mill STG stuff. Capstan, GL Pease and others available. I'm sure some of the tins have good age on it. Picked up 2oz of their house blend, "English Oriental". Very moist, I plan to airdry it for about 10~15minutes before jarring.

Nice selection of pipes available as well. The staff and the gentlemen smoking at the lounge table were kind.

Back was killing me so I left shortly after my tobacco was weighed. Will stop by again.
