Pipe stem clogged with a broken pipe cleaner

I have a pipe with a long stem, during one of the cleans the pipe cleaner broke inside the stem and I cant remove.

The pipe cleaner is one of those made of soft tissue (maybe cotton) with a wire in center.

Any tips in how to remove these from the stem?

Use a rigid piece of wire, Brazing rod, tig filler rod, mechanics wire, etc. Or compressed air, but be gentle you can snap a plugged stem with to much pressure.

Maybe find a drill bit the same diameter as the draft hole int the stem, and try pushing it through.

I bought a pipe that had a broken pipe cleaner in it. And the seller did fix it. Only time I've seen it.

I have a set of long, thin needles (I think 4", 6" and 8") from Amazon that might work in a situation like this--if the stem is straight (the shorter needle is quite thin.

I'm a Guitarist so I use old bass strings, they work a treat.

Never had that happen but, I use a steel brush on my stems for the initial run through followed by whatever number of cleaners are required.
