I know one thing for sure: if you take a man's hobbies and toys away, he starts to wither. A man needs hobbies—cars, motorcycles, smoking, playing music, fishing, shooting, hunting, gardening, sports, the outdoors, beers with friends, whatever. Stay away from a woman who doesn’t approve of or respect your hobbies—unless, of course, they seriously strain the household budget to the point where the family lacks basic necessities.
The same applies to sexual preferences and various fetishes. As long as they are safe and within reason, if a woman doesn't fulfill them, the man will be unhappy and eventually seek satisfaction elsewhere.

Interesting question. My experience has been very different so maybe you should take my suggestions with a grain of salt.
Our first date was in 1980 and I took her to the drive-ins. As soon as we got there, I cracked the window open and lit up a pipe. She said "oh, I like the smell of that pipe"and I fell in love lol. Since that point in time, I have smoked my pipe in every apartment, house or car that we have owned. She knew what she was getting when we got married and the rest is history. In fact, most of my gifts from my kids and my wife revolve around pipes or tools. My interest in pipe smoking has only intensified over the years as I now collect pipes, restore pipes, and cellar a great deal of tobacco.
The only request she ever made of me was that I not smoke around babies. Once the children got older, it wasn't an issue.
The only reason I relay this story is because I think it is important to

In fact, as I write this, I am puffing on a pipe and my wife is sitting 2 feet away from me. I asked her what she thought and she said it's your life and if you enjoy it then, what do I care? I do smoke a few cigars a week, but I always smoke them outside. my adult son now smokes pipes and cigars, and his wife has accepted it as well.
If you enjoy pipe smoking, it is unlikely that you were going to quit anytime soon, so let her know that it's important to you and go from there. Good luck.
