Okay, so I didn't use the polish on the stem, but I think I did a somewhat decent job on the refurb on the stem. I cut out a groove along the path of the crack in the stem, then filled it with the JB Weld. The graphite I bought sucked, or I bought the wrong JB Weld. It would just get...grayer. Should have just used the sanded pencil lead. Anyway, I did add it to the super glue and it worked wonders. Painted some on to cover the gray JB Weld, sanded between coats. Then sanded, buffed, and polished until it was blinding in the sunlight. Maybe I'm not quite as good looking, but I think it turned out okay. At the very least, I'm learning.
