Just picked up this nos Pioneer Calabash pipe. Looking for some help identifying the age. No marks on the pipe or box. Thanks in advance..

Not sure the history of Pioneer but I got mine in the early 90s.

I checked pipedia on Pioneer but there's very little information.

Not recent. They sold beautiful Meers.

Here’s my Pioneer



If you zoom in you’ll see the “P” on the stem for Pioneer. These are often mistaken for and sold as Peterson’s. Beautiful pipes.

Judging by the packaging, I'd say 1970s. Pioneer made very nice pipes; I think their calabashes usually used pressed meer, but I'm not certain they all did. Enjoy it! Calabashes, with the expansion chamber and absorbent interior (plus the sweet meerschaum) are wonderful pipes, and with the deep bend, are great jaw-hangers.
