...never mind remarkable.
Taken in my dad's de facto "man cave" in 1979. I still have the pipe I'm holding, too---a Sav Autograph sandblast w/bamboo shank. Little doubt we were both smoking Sobranie 759, and that I whupped his butt. (He was an enthusiastic player, but predictable. Topped out at USCF 1750-ish.)
I can't recall the pipe he is smoking but it is probably a GBD.
As for my mom complaining, it simply never happened. Men smoked pipes, end of story, and she was never bothered by things she couldn't change (plus I'm not sure it even bothered her.)

Who else would trade in today for the times in that picture.
Thanks for sharing.

Great picture. Love the 70s boom box.
Keep smoking in public, gents. We can normalize this fashion yet again.

How did you make it through that decade with normal hair?
LOL
I went from Marines to cop to corporate IT that decade, so never went very far off center style-wise.
I was even semi-studly at that particular moment in time... 500 lb deadlift, 400 lb squat, and 290 BP at a bodyweight of 205.
Ah... memories.

Neat pic. Bet he called that room his "den" - that was an older term for "man-cave", and a much classier term, I think.
