I'm on a role today, fellows, but what are your thoughts on this pipe from eBay? I've never owned a tankard before, but this looks like a handsome one. Thoughts?
Cancel that request: handsome pipe, but it has a P Lip. Sorry. Ignore.

sparrowhawk, to follow-up the question a little, I think some tankards are available with standard bits. I've always thought they lacked the Peterson charm of bulk and sturdiness, and look a little more frail than other pipes with more graceful designs. But that's just me. Shop them online; you might find one you like.

I restored one, then sold it before becoming a P-lip fan. Now, that is one I regret letting go. It was sold to a forum member, who brings it to the Allentown meeting occasionally, sure, rub it in! I think this one was around 29 grams.

I got a tankard on a trade with a P-lip but liked the shape so much that I had my guy at the local B+M cut me a new stem about an inch shorter and fishtail. Great pipe and amazingly light for clenching.
