I've been eyeing the Peterson Irish Army 120s. Any of you smoking the Irish Army series, and if so, how do you find them?

I have a couple. If they didn't provide a decent smoking experience I'd have binned 'em.
Peterson Irish Army is good line of pipe. Being an army mount pipe, you can take it apart easily even during smoking. I don't care for nickel fitting, but it serves purpose. It has rather comfortable acrylic stem. Nothing more, nothing less. Well made utilitarian tool for the smokers.
My four are p-lips, rubber. Quite comfortable to clench. A decent tool for sure. Oh, and dirt cheap also. Great pipe for the moneys.
I have three of the Peterson Silver Army pipes. I expect they’re the same but with silver mounts and slightly different finish. I love them. I agree with the utilitarian and good value comments.
Yes, from the comments that I've heard about them - a "working man's pipe". Very reasonably priced and as bullet08 says - a good tool. I've been looking at the Irish Army series - in particular the 120. I'm attracted a bit to the history of them as well. I don't have a Peterson so far, but it could be my next pipe. An Irish Dublin as well seems to be a good combo.

Peterson’s 120 is a great shape. I got a 2022 St. Patrick’s Day 120 and it was an excellent smoker from the start.
I smoke a Peterson Irish Army 120 almost daily. It's one of my favorite pipes.
I have a 68 Aran Irish Army (20mmx40mm chamber) that I bought in 1982 - my first pipe ! It smokes great, very comfortable. It is a bit short and has thin walls compared the large pipes I prefer now but a good smooth sipping pipe. I won't part with it for practical and sentimental reasons. It makes a nice light travel pipe as well. You won't be disappointed.
I actually just purchased a pipe,(a beautiful Mastro Geppetto Canadian,) so I'm not buying it immediately for sure, but maybe later this fall or the beginning of winter. But, I just never noticed many people smoking them; lots of Petersons, but, not many Irish Army. So, I was curious.

I've been eyeing a Peterson IA 68, so to hear near universal praise is really pushing me towards a purchase.
I only have two that I purchased this year. A straight #106 Billiard and a bent #69 Billiard. I love them both and to be honest if I knew about army mounts 55 yrs ago when I started smoking pipes, they would be the only pipes that I would have ever purchased.
I've got five: 101, 86, 120, 406, and 408. The 406 Prince looks great, but mine smokes hot, so it doesn't get much love. The other four are all fantastic. Easily some of my favorite pipes.
I have the 120 army, it's a good pipe, looks good to me, fairly roomy but also lightweight. My only problem with it was that it came with a disgusting bowl coating which became gloopy during smoking and gave a definite taste to the tobacco. All good since I sanded it off though.
