Peterson's Old Dublin is one of my favorites. The flavor is bold in the Latakia department; it has a heavy campfire note from the tin, but is very smooth when smoked. It doesn't have as much incense-like Oriental flavor as some English blends, but it is there. A well-balanced smoke, I think.

I think it's a cracking blend. I found in a cob the incense comes through more. In a briar the latakia is stronger.

If you do like it I would also suggest Petersons Balkan Delight.

Yup. Dublin is a very solid English blend and all that, easily equal to a handful of quality English/Balkan blends, as aldecaker sez.
1865 is more so, with more Latakia and other quality ingredients. I have them both open, side-by-side, nose-to-nose, and 1865 is a darker (special 150th Pete) blend. Both are fine additions to your smokey rotation.

Old Dublin is one of my favorites, too, although I don't have any open right now. I find it very smooth and balanced, as others have said. I'd recommend it to anybody as a solid English (Scottish?) blend for it's balance. It's just a good, satisfying 'meat & potatoes' smoke.
I haven't tried 1865, but while we're talking Peterson, Wild Atlantic is another cracking blend. The 40gram pouch makes it affordable and well worth trying.
