I jarred a bunch of this 2 years ago. At first wasn’t all that impressed but just had a bowl.
Oh my. Super plummy, sweet, with a pleasant peppery tingle from the perique.
Any advice on “ optimal” age?

I have some from 2014 that is crazy good. I would think 7-10 is optimal, but it’s all relative.

2-6 is also very good.

I'm not experienced enough with it to be able to spot exact aging time, but I have a jar that is about seven years old, and it is far better than the blend is fresh. Yes, the peppery tingle stops being prickly and becomes invigorating.

Good to know...I've had some jarred for about 2.5 years...didn't care much for it fresh.
