Well I opened the Chenet’s Cake today even though it’s a “cellar series” tobacco. Fantastic! I got citrus and hay from the tin note even though other reviews say it smells like an old barn mixed with sweat. The perique is at the forefront and pleases the taste buds. Probably not an all day smoke but definitely once a day.

What is the date on the tin? If you don’t mind posting. I’ve found that tge age if this one makes a big difference. I only have three of these though. I need to fix that.

I hope you enjoy your perique adventure!

Fresh, St James Flake is a pepper bomb. Well aged it is divine with the Perique transforming to sweet, fig and stewed fruit flavors. Acadian No 1 and 2.are both excellent. I prefer No 1 as the oriental element is more forward.

If you see it available grab all the Solani 633 you can get. It smokes great fresh as well as aged. I prefer the 50 gram tins as they come vacuum sealed. The 100 gram tins do not and you have to jar them upon receipt.

@Peter Turbo as @cigrmaster says, Solani 633 is also very good. I smoked a tin in parallel with DLNRs and felt it was very similar, if a tad less sweet but making it up by having more substantial body. Very similar yet different, but equally good.
Bonus point, personally I don't think anyone makes prettier or neater flakes than Kohlhase & Kopp. Oh MacBaren and STG also do impeccable-looking flakes.

Just cracked a tin of Bayou Morning Flake. Fantastic stuff! This could become my regular night smoke. Just waiting for the nicotine rush I’ve been reading about.
