My buddy Dave J picked this up in Kansas City and gifted it to me for working on his Blue Ribands. I knew a little about Parker pipes and know that the Patent No. pipes had a date code similar to Dunhills.
This one has some odd stamps beside the Patent number, what looks like a sideways L and a T. This one is tiny, around 20 grams.
There is a faint "10" stamped beside the COM, so I believe this one is from 1934 (date stamps start in 1924). It could be a 12 or possibly a 19, but 10 is my best guess under magnification
Does anyone know the meaning of the L and T?
It's in very good shape, just some odd marks on the stem (pliers?). I'll finish it next week when we get back from Louisiana.

Al, your looking at the Patent number, it's not a sideways L, it's a 7.
"Pat n° 116989/17 is the number corresponding to the Inner Tube patent (with flange)."
:)
Seems 10 would be 1933...
"The first year's pipes (1923) had no date code; from 1924 on it ran consecutively from 1 to 19."
Count it off on your fingers.

Ah yes Dave, I can see where that would be a 17. Your eagle/hallmark eye is always appreciated. And correct on the date count, I must have ran out of fingers. This one is in such nice shape,it's hard to believe it dates to 1933.

I still can't believe this one is 84 year old. After learning that, I wasted no time in getting it cleaned up for use. In fact it will accompany me this week to New Orleans. This little beauty is only 21 grams, so it is right my my alley.(and the first lovat in my collection)
Here's the write-up at Reborn Pipes and the finished pictures.
