PA Instead of CH...

My latest order to SPC was for tobaccos to help me drastically reduce the amount of cigarettes I’ve been smoking during stay at home orders.

I ordered Ryback, CH, and a tub of Lane Ready Rubbed.

When I opened my order there was a small box of PA and no CH. I understand things happen. I know PA has its fans but, it’s not something I was ever interested in.

Is PA just as good as CH in breaking-in new pipes and “de-ghosting?“ Otherwise, I’ll set it aside and include it in a future trade or something.

PA's a good burley blend, a sturdy standby for breaking in pipes, though any blend you like will do. I find the cocoa flavoring a little annoying half way through a pouch, but I've enjoyed it form time to time.

If you are trying to get off the cigs, you may find that PA will help the transition, as I find that it has a taste more similar to cigs than CH. PA and CH are both good for breaking in a pipe.

That’s good to know It’s more cig-like as opposed to CH. I’ll try it in a new cob. Looks like I’m keepin’ it.

Haha nah I made a thread a few days back. Some people like it but I found it to have little value besides nic content. ?

I prefer Granger or even Sir Walter (regular) for a burley.

Ya, I just finished reading that thread. I need to keep an open mind. Otherwise, I haven’t even tried it and I already don’t like it.

It’s honestly not bad, it’s just not something that I like everyone likes different tobaccos.

I smoke both regularly. If it was me, I'd be just as happy with the PA. Imo, It has more flavor.

If you're looking for cigarette like tobacco, I'd go with the Daughters and Ryan. To me PA is nothing like cigarettes.

Hmm? Had not heard that. That’s why I wanted to go with the CH in the first place. Worse comes to worse, I’ll dedicate a cob to PA in the AM As others have suggested. I am still curious to try CH.

I like both PA & CH, but I give the edge to PA because it's a bit stronger. You may want to try mixing that Ryback with the PA and the Lane Ready Rubbed for a good nicotine hit. I've done it with both blends and it's a good way to keep you off the cigs or to at least cut way back.

I smoke both because it keeps either one from getting boring. They seem to be the same type of tobacco with just enough difference to keep ME from getting bored. Though, many of these dudes have better tastebuds than I do.

I'd say PA is a more interesting smoke than CH. But if pipe cake is what your after CH is considered the gold standard. If you ask me, building cake is overrated but it's just a personal preference.

I prefer PA. The more I smoke other tobacco, the less I can taste CH. That said, I like to break in pipes with straight VA like Sutlif 707 Sweet VA, Capstan, or Golden Glow. PA and SWR smell like every American grandpa's pipe... unless you had the rare "eccentric" grandpa that liked English blends or Dutch Cavendish.

I rotate between PA, CH, SWR, Half&Half and now Granger. They all have their own slight differences. I cant describe why i pick one over the other at different times of the day. I know when i first wake up and am getting around in the morning i like CH
