Where did you have to look to make that discovery? ?

Unless a boa is a juvenile, it is not easy to sex them definitively without probing. In general, the main physical difference in adults is size, females are usually larger. With juveniles you can do a bump test by feeling along the snake just past the cloaca or vent which is near the tail for bumps caused by the hemipenes of a male.
