STG has to decide which products will expand pipe tobacco sales, and which products will further segment the already hugely divided market. The My Own Blend line, for example, rivals H&H, C&D and McClelland in the number of individual blends in the line. It's expensive to produce, stock and sell. Would importing MOB (or any of the other STG products not sold here) sell more tobacco for STG, or would it just cannibalize sales from other STG brands already sold here, and be a further expense against the bottom line?
My highly educated wild-assed blind as a bat assumption is that MOB would appeal to an entirely new group of potential pipe smokers, be a runaway success, bury the competition and triple sales figures for STG. Bring it on!
