Ordering the new pipe.

Hi pipe smokers, I have a few questions about ordering new pipe.
So, I'm now in Netherlands, and I have two Savinelli's ( 510 ks and 141 ks ), and I want to order a new one soon, the 606 KS, so can you give me an advise, how will be better, to order from Haddocks pipe shop ( If anyone ordered a pipe from this shop, tell me your thoughts about it ) or directly from the Savinelli site ?

I don't know where in The Netherlands you are, but both Amsterdam and Rotterdam have good pipe shops, I've heard. My sister brought me a briar pipe from Rotterdam. For online retailers, I'll let someone in Europe chime in. The Netherlands has good clay pipes as well.

I'm in North-Hollad Province ( near to Amsterdam ), but I'm not so often goes to Amsterdam, but next time I will check the assortment of pipes in P.G.C Hajenius, I always buy a tobacco there, but I never was in the pipes part of it.

If Haddocks has a pipe you like I would order it in a heartbeat from them. I think it is the largest selected pipeshop in the Netherlands, at least with a online store.

Honestly either way you'll probably end up with a decent pipe. Savs get complaints every rare one in a while, but when compared to the number of people that say their new Sav is great, so the failure rate (a pipe that is not up to snuff, that has flaws that aren't acceptable at that price range) is certainly on your side. Pick one you like and are comfortable with price wise. And also make sure the place you order from is good with exchanges or replacements mainly for peace of mind, but also because all products have clunkers because they exist in the real world and perfection is a goal not an obtainable state.

Ordering any pipes over internet has its down side. You don't get to see the pipe. There are sites like SP that shows multiple angles of a pipe, but sometimes that doesn't show the full detail. You want to be patient and study the picture as much as possible and choose the one you feel fits your ideal choice. Even then, it might not turn out right. Good luck.

Smokingpipe.eu would be a good choice. The quantity of pipes, including Savinalli's is very large.

Yeah, they have it, but maybe it’s sounds weird, but on the photos on the site the colour of the pipe is a bit different then on the Savinelli site ( maybe it’s just a light specific, idk )

That's the only reason I didn't order anything from them, the photography could be better. If you really want to see a pipe "in detail" online, www.smokingpipes.eu sends to the Netherlands and their photos are great.

I actually choosing it for a last 3 months, cause’ i want a second pipe for latakia, my 510ks is latakia pipe, but chamber a bit small for my)
I had been watching some Peterson’s, cause’ i never had it, but decided to buy another one Savinelli.
And price for this 606ks with i want - 85€ which really nice.

I think the longest Ive waited is 2 weeks with the free delivery option, but generally it is only 1 or 2 days when the pipe lands in NL.

Thank you,cause’ i want to buy a new pipe as a present for myself on the Christmas, to tell you the truth, i’m choosing between three pipes 603, 614 and 606KS, cause’ i want a bent pipe for long smoke, but i think that 603 it’s really small for this.

I've never had a Sav but I've been real happy with my two Petersons. Both are great pipes and frankly quite handsome. Sav certainly feels like they're inspiration is Peterson. But either way you'll probably get a great pipe you'll be happy with. In fact most brands are like that these days.

I actually look on Christmas 2021 Sherlock Holmes Heritage Milverton, i think it’s really nice, but maybe too big for me, cause my 410 feels really big, so i use it mostly in the evening, for a long smoke, and i smokes only Virginia Flakes or Vapers in it.

And yeah, it’s really a bit large for me.

So, i usually use this one, but there is a bit small chamber, for 30-35 min smoke.

Ordering online from a reputable shop is safe.

If you are like me and just want a pipe that smokes well and do not care about the tiny details of appearances, you will be safe ordering online.

If you’re the type of person who is very particular about your pipes’ looks there is more risk, but you can usually return them if they are unsmoked.
