I picked up a pair of Chacom pipes with acrylic stems recently. I'm finding that the draw is a little too tight for my liking and since I tend to smoke a little faster and hotter than I probably should, I'm getting some gurgle issues.
I've opened up the draw on vulcanite stems before with a drill by going very, very sow and opening them up little by litle. I'm afraid to try this on the acrylic since it seems like they'd be more likely to break.
Any suggestions?

I've found acrylic to actually be pretty forgiving to work with. I wouldn't take after it with high-speed power tools or anything, though! May be worth investing in the special drill bits for acrylics and other plastics. They have a 90 degree point and zero rake, IIRC.

I think if you go slow with acrylic there shouldn't be any problems.
