Opening A Tin? Show Us!

I opened a tin of this last Christmas with about 5 years of age on it. The tin was swoll and when I opened it the smell of rum and tobacco was heavenly. I really enjoyed it and i've got one more in the cellar.

Not too sure how I feel about these. I cracked the 1st tin of Spark Plug from 2020 and saw some possible plume? But my concern is that it has a musty odor to the tin. I cracked the 2nd from 2021 and I found "plume" again and again with a musty odor. You guys have any thoughts? Or anyone have the same musty smell with older Spark Plug? It doesn't appear fuzzy, looks more like white-ish crystals, which normally, I wouldn't think twice. But it's the musty smell that has me concerned.

Man, that's rough. As much as it pains me, I would say don't smoke it, especially since it's still an in production blend.
I don't know man, I've gotten Gawith blends that look like this. The musty smell is probably the Latakia.
That's what I was wondering. Anyone else know if aged Latakia has a mustiness to it?
First tin of Jamneman Flake. Lovely long flakes. From the recent US shipment.
It can do, easily. I have some SG Navy Flake that looks a bit like that, 18 months old, smokes great.
Woke up with a hankering for Burley with the coffee. Had to pop open what's probably my favorite blend. The pipe is a Georg Jensen billiard.
Opening up a tin of Pfeifen Huber Louisiana Flake. I also opened a tin of Haunted Bookshop Cake and rubbed it out to dry.
As a guy that’s not a fan of most American burley blends, but likes 5Bros, I figured I’d give C&D’s Kelly’s Coin a shot-most likely will be a booster for weaker blends, and mix better in that role than the shag of 5Bros.

I dunno man, that doesn't look great. If it were me, and I really wanted it, I'd set it aside for a bit and see if whatever that stuff is grows
Happy Thanksgiving! Tonight opening a tin of H&H Black House from 2020. (Was gifted this from Secret Santa Exchange orchestrated via this forum).
Opened the tin and heard a satisfying hiss. Tobacco was a bit on the dryer side (but have heard that is typical for H&H). Smell was smoky at first, but then sweet, and a little bit of dark fruit. Did remind me of smelling Balkan Sobranie. Some larger leaves mixed in with the ribbon cut. Wonderfully presented. Will be enjoying a bowl in the coming days. Excited to try this as I loved Balkan Blue and want to see if Black House scratches that itch.

Pulled out this tin of Samuel Gawith Christmas Mixture 2007 from deep in the cellar.
Some of the topping has faded a bit but the underlying tobaccos are terrific.
I like to smoke my pipe in my garage - a man's home is his castle but his garage is his sanctuary! Afterwards the smell in the garage was sublime & the cinnamon in the topping was noticable.
