Just a quick note, a fried of mine come back home from his visit to Spain's Canary Island where tobacco is still more affordably priced (cigarettes &cigars included)than even in The U.S, here the example of a pack of Amphoras where stricker shows a price of 4.50e which equals roughly to $5 ,he says Rattrays where about 7e per tin and St Bruno, about 5,50e nontheless prices in the mainland of Spain are somewhat higher but not too significantly so(btw.online sales for tobaccoproducts in this country have come to end quite long ago )CIMG0580.JPG:cry:

@pappymac, Can't deny,an absolute true, yet as I have been telling previousy tobacco products in the mainland Spain are taxed higher, just a quote,Tin of standard C&D offerings sets you back for 10e, Amphoras are like 5,50e, Petersons something like 10e ,and all these prices do vary depending on location (taxes varies from province to province)

I can confirm. Spain has really cheap EU prices for tobacco. Bought about 250gr worth of tobacco when i went to Malaga. But the local tobacco shops have limited range of pipe tobacco, St. Bruno and Capstan blue where the most interesting blends; the rest were aro's. In Barcelona is Sybarite and i think that there is best place to buy a lot of tobacco (no international shipping on tobacco).

I was just in Spain. It was so cheap. Condor and st Bruno and other otc pouches are 5.50€ (6.20$ US)capstan is 7.50€ (8.50$ US)and premium tins like gawith or petersons are 10€(11.20$ US). 100g rattrays was 17€(19.20$US)

IS that cheaper than US?

I'm from Canada so I am not familiar with US prices. But compared to Canadian prices (35$ US) per 50G I was flabbergasted with Spain prices and realized we are getting hosed here in Canada.

I have been told by an EU citizen that Spain is also the only market for Condor Long Flake. I have no way of confirming that bit of trivia, but I heard it.
I didn't see any in most of the pipe shops in Barcelona a month ago..so it might be true but probably a hard time finding it still.

I’m not surprised, based on my experiences buying Cuban cigars in Madrid. I believe Spain has the lowest possible/legally allowable prices on Cubans. It would make sense that would transfer to other tobacco products.

I remember, 20 years back, the prices for Cuban Cohibas in Spain were the lowest anywhere. They were authentic but couldn't get the Spanish shops to guarantee delivery in the US.

Its true about the Canaries in particular Tenerife. I have been paying 5.50euros for capstan blue and 7.50 for Gawith tins. The full range of Peterson pipe tobacco is also available at 7.50, also Cuban cigars are the cheapest I have seen anywhere certainly cheaper than Cuba.
