I’ve tired Pegasus and Haunted Bookshop. I much prefer Haunted Bookshop probably because of the perique. Is Old Joe Krantz similar to either of those blends?

OJK completes C&Ds Burley Trifecta. Yes, try it.
OJK and HB are both burley-perique blends. So, they are similar. Prefer OJK but enjoy both of them.
Absolutely love OJK...smoke more of it than anything else these days...smoking it right now.
Not the Blue or Red one, its just "Old Joe Krantz"
I've only had the original, but Blue apparently has no Perique...can't imagine OJK w/o Perique.
I usually smoke Haunted Bookshop Cake every morning as my first smoke love the stuff. I bought a tin of OJK last week. I has already a year age on it. Smoked the first bowl and had to prepare a jar because I will buy more. I really like it. Both are goog smokes in my opinion,but what do I know.
Old Joe Krantz and Haunted Bookshop share the same component tobaccos but the proportions of them are different. I thoroughly enjoy them both. In fact Haunted Bookshop would be my choice as a deserted island blend 
By components you might mean Burley VA and Perique but variety of leaf and casings are totally different. I can concur about the bite. I had to slow down and I really enjoy Haunted Bookshop Cake in the morning with tea. That's in my top 3! The other OJK have weird stuff in em. Lol
Haven’t tried the cake sounds interesting I like preparing cakes and the way the chunks smoke
Side note, add 1/4 red virginia to Haunted Bookshop, let sit for 3 - 6 months. Reminds me of Big Red chewing gum.
I've grown to like OJK. In my experience, it is much better with a couple years of age on it, and it is much better if smoked very slowly. Given those caveats, it is one of my go-to tobaccos.
