Has anyone had experience with oilcloth lined tobacco pouches? Does it sufficiently keep tobacco in good condition for day use or traveling?

Unless it is lined I would not use one. I would be affraid that the oil in the cloth woud affect the tobacco.

Genuine oilcloth is linen or cotton, tightly woven, treated with linseed oil. It was used in tobacco pouches for decades and even for food pouches. My question is more about air tightness, degradation, etc. It is not oily to touch.
In any case, I am going with surgical grade sheet rubber. No petroleum products, no expensive oilcloth... A pain to find the genuine article.
